Tara Boirard
Tara Boirard is a New Yorker and daughter of acclaimed Haitian artist Carl Boirard. She work in pastels, acrylic and oil paint. Her pieces are often political, challenging the status quo as she speaks out against issues of social injustice. This aspect of her work has been informed by her studies in urban policy and her experience in working with underserved communities. Her repertoire also consists of many pieces that display the softer side of life – children at play and other subjects that typify innocence. She examines the tension that exists between our everyday struggle to make ends meet and our desire to live simpler and more meaningful lives. In doing so, Tara Boirard has developed the ability to capture on canvas the complex emotions that define the human experience.
