About the Lucia N°03

The Lucia N°03 gently entrains the brain, stimulates the pineal gland and opens up a beautiful space for visionary exploration. The Lucia N°03 helps clear the mind and allow even beginning meditators to reach a space of peace quickly. It is not a replacement for a meditation practice but quite the opposite - it encourages people to meditate by realizing how powerful the practice can be and gives them the confidence (and roadmap) to get there on their own. As the Lucia is both a stimulation (through light), and a relaxation (through brain entrainment), it helps the individual learn to let go in stressful situations, rather than resist and make things even more difficult. The Lucia N°03 also uses a wide spectrum of light which has been reported to have a great impact for people with both seasonal affective disorder and other types of depression.

As our energetic system is so deeply intertwined, of course the Lucia does more than simply work with the mind and ajna chakra. We are beings of light and all of our cells communicate through light (this is just being confirmed now by molecular biologists). The Lucia N°03 activates this light system and it spreads through the body, moving energy along the nadis, clearing blocks and lighting up the whole system. We are currently offering light for the different chakras as well, especially the heart and and solar plexus. For those who are can feel energy, this is quite an experience!

The Lucia light experience is different for each person, as it works with each person's individual system and has a balancing effect. The Lucia N°03 is a cosmic mirror that helps us look within to admire the unique beauty of our consciousness.

Sacred Luminosity Closing Reception

As a feature of The Lumiere Series, Gallery AWA presents an exhibition of the sculptures of Susan Pullman Brooks, Sacred Luminosity: Goddesses of the Vedic and Celtic Pantheons. Sacred Luminosity seeks to examine the divine feminine energy that was once an integral part of ancient belief systems, and to reassess and re-imagine this energy in the modern day.

The closing reception, June 16th from 6-9pm, will include an intimate conversation between the artist and those in attendance about her work. This reception marks the close of two successful months of the Sacred Luminosity Exhibition, that included events that engaged the Vedic and Celtic goddesses with meditation, religious lectures and Zimbabwean rhythms. Gallery AWA is delighted to invite the public to interact with the artist and celebrate these remarkable works before the exhibition closes. The event will be located at 61 Greenpoint Avenue, Suite 306, Brooklyn, New York, 11222.

Sacred Luminosity: Mystic Mbira Trance - A Shona Ceremonial Gathering

As part of The Lumiere Series: Sacred Luminosity Exhibition, Gallery AWA Presents:

MYSTIC MBIRA TRANCE - A ceremonial gathering
w/ mbira master, Chartwell Dutiro & friends

When: Wednesday May 24 2017 7PM - Onwards

Shona mbira music from Zimbabwe is one of the most soulful sounds on the African continent. Mbira (the name of the instrument and the music) is mystical music which has been played for over a thousand years. Originally used in spirit possession ceremonies, the iron-pronged mbira, produces music, rhythmically charged enough to keep people dancing through all-night ceremonies. It is believed that the beauty of the music attracts the ancestors’ spirits. Join us for an evening of ceremonial mbira music, a gathering to connect us with our ancestors. Immerse yourself in Zimbabwean culture!

If you can talk
You can sing
If you can walk
You can dance
Or you just sit
And reflect to the intricate beauty of the music

Chartwell Dutiro - mbira, vocals
Shorai Dutiro - mbira, vocals
Nora Balaban - mbira, vocals
